Back To The Beginning

So here I am, back to a a new beginning.  Last year, I lost 60 pounds.  I was on my way to a kicking body, and finally feeling great about myself again.  I ran my first race in November, and the next weekend, found out I was pregnant!  Fast forward 10 months...and here I am with a newborn, and massive weight gain.

I am 100 pounds overweight.

Granted, I don't need to lose exactly 100, but that's a pretty astonishing number to look at.  Couple that with being exhausted (a side effect of the newborn and two year old), out of shape, and mentally run down, I'm not doing so great in the eating healthy/exercising department.  I start back to work in two days, and I fear that I'll be even less likely to exercise.

So, my hope is that with the start of this blog, and getting some followers, I'll keep up my workouts and inspire some people along the way.  One can hope, right?

  1. I am wishing you all the best in this, Sarah!

I used my blog a ton during the initial phases of my weight loss (and I've noticed that since I've stopped using it as much my weight has gone up--gotta refocus!), and I found it helped a lot, in part simply because there might be a chance of someone looking at my blog...and judging me. ;)

I actually posted up my before pictures and added after pictures every 4 weeks, along with measurements and the like. Even if you don't post 'em, I highly recommend taking photos in the same clothes every month or two. It's such a better way to actually see progress.

  2. Thanks Ruth! Yeah, the traditional approach hasn't been working for me, so I decided I'd start with a blog...get some friends as followers, then maybe some strangers, and I have a feeling it will help keep me in line. I don't want to mess up when I've got people keeping their eyes on me!
